Jon Palmer Acoustic Band

Dave met the The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band when he introduced them on the North Sea Stage at Musicport 2013 and fell in love with their sound immediately. They are a six piece folk, roots and rock-n-roll combo based in-and-around the musically vibrant West Yorkshire market town of Otley, most performing songs written by Jon, winner of the Grolsch UK Songwriter of the Year, and a published songwriter with Sony.

Describing the band as “a cross between The Pogues and Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Session Band”, Leeds Music Scene agreed, saying the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band left them “spellbound and desperate for more!”

A 7-track CD “Working For The Gang Master”, recorded and produced by Gerry McNeice, has recently been released to critical and public acclaim.

The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band have a rapidly growing popularity as they appear at more festivals and venues. Ideal for the more raucous stages they have a ‘can’t sit still to this’ vibe that livens up any show. They have appeared at festivals across the north, including: Moonbeams, Bamfest, Oxjam Kirklees, Musicport, Ingleton, Hardraw Summer Gathering, Barnsley Acoustic Roots, Bradford Olympic Torch Concert, Otley Folk Festival, Saltaire, and the Aire Do Festival in Keighley. They are generally available for live venues and festivals
